Join the Society of Architectural Historians and the Benjamin Marshall Society at the Charnley-Persky House Museum for a unique look at architect Benjamin Marshall (1874-1944). View the Benjamin Marshall Society's recent documentary film, followed by a unique look at a Benjamin Marshall home in Hinsdale, IL lovingly restored over 40 years by the longtime owner. A light reception follows the program.

A Gathering at Blackstone Hotel
The Blackstone Hotel is a glittering jewel of a Second Empire French-style building designed by Marshall and Fox between 1908 and 1910, for which Ben received the Chicago AIA award. At 21-stories high, it was Chicago's tallest building.
If you haven't seen the Blackstone, it's so worth the visit. And if you have, come back and take another long drink of a look at this French Beaux Arts masterpiece...

Jazz evening at the Cliff Dwellers Club
Hello there, as all you friends and fans are aware, it’s Ben's birthday soon, and we want to celebrate it with a fabulous, sparkling, jazz evening on May 8th. Our Jazz Evening includes dinner and a show, with all of us Marshall fans "Sitting on the Top of the World" and looking at the "Blue Skies" from the rooftop of the Cliff Dwellers Club. The dinner is gourmet and the show is gonna' swing!
Our show features the "Tres Belle Soprano Trio" accompanied by pianist Paul Dykstra. From Carnegie Hall to the Miss America stage to La Scala Opera House in Milan, Operatic sopranos Marisa Buchheit, Kimberly Jones and Kirsten Leslie will entertain us with their lush vocalism, spirited ensemble numbers, and playful banter.

Dear Benjamin Marshall Society followers, Marshall aficionados and friends, Ben's upcoming May birthday will be celebrated with a showing of our fab documentary film on May 4th.
